Their 1st Rosemary! Tell us about the highlights, please.

Was the only Rosemary really in Louisville KY? http://www.archive.org/details/gd1968-12-07.sbd.miller.88674.sbeok.flac16

I guess that means "He was a Friend of Mine" tonight.

..;-)

the first set was great. then they busted out rosemary. the morning dew just built and built until they reached a peak and there was that collective audience moment where everyone in the building knew something special was happening. serious cold chills. closed the cryptical suite and busted into a little diddy before breaking out Eyes and man was this Eyes fantastic. jeff took the first solo after the first verse as he usually does with furthur and he absolutely rocked shit. everytime i thought he and the band reached the climax of the jam, they just kept on going. it seemed jeff slammed the keys for about 10 minutes. epic stuff. the rest of the song was just as special and they slowly transitioned into the Other One. straight power jam. after that, i thought "alright boys, what could you possibly do next?" only for them to immediately bust out the china cat riff. the china was definitely good but the rider took it to another level. probably one of the most intense rider jams furthur has done. epic to say the least. and then when everyone thought they couldnt possibly play ANOTHER classic song of that caliber, the playing riff appears. mind blown. the playing got a little spacy but returned to jam nice and hard. that was the end of the set. i was absolutely blown away by what i had just witnessed, as im guessing lots of others were as well. jaw on the floor, hands on the head, hair on the neck straight up. brokedown encore was gorgeous. i LOVE that tune. perfect way to end the night because if they would have busted out another boogie tune as the encore, heads would have exploded.

so theres my review for the show. i still dont know if that does the show justice for how fucking good it was and i have a feeling the recording definitely will not do it justice. im damn glad i caught this show.
